We went to Blue Mountain with Arul's family, using the train from Sydney Central Station. It was on Sunday, so we utilized the Family Funday Sunday ticket cost AUD 2,50! Wohoo so cheap! Thanks Arul and family:) The Sydney Central station is in an antique building, close to YHA hostels which are Sydney Central YHA and Sydney Railway Square YHA.
Too bad that day the train railway was under construction, so that we had to take the bus first provided by the station then continued by taking the train to Blue Mountain.
After 1,5 hours ride, we arrived at Katoomba, we liked the station, it feels like being in the Disneyland:p
We walked directly to the bus stop, and while we waited for the bus to come, we enjoyed the glimpse of this beautiful city. We took the free bus (#686) taking us to the Echo Point. There's also a hop on hop off bus, but we choose to take the free one instead. You could check the hop on hop off bus price here.
Arriving at the Echo Point, Arul's family went to find some food, while we went to take pictures of the blue mountain and the famous three sister. It's gorgeous! There's also an information center at the Echo Point.
After taking our lunch at the Echo Point, we took the free bus again to the Scenic World. It was really crowded at the Scenic World, we had to queue for 15 minutes just to buy the ticket. We bought a valley return cost AUD 21 for adult. We could take a combine ride with a cableway and a railway into and going back from the valley.
We enjoyed the ride so much, as we could see beautiful view from the cableway.
The valley has some walking tracks, as Ijul and her daughter waited for us at the restaurant, we choose the shortest route heading to the railway station. It was so peaceful at the valley. Love the smell from the trees...hmmm..so fresh! Dhaffin keep asking us what are the names of this tree and that tree, thanks to the signs of the trees provided in front of the trees:)
Finally we went back to the scenic world using the railway.. the journey was really steep, and we sat in the first row, making our journey a very challenging and memorable one.
Thanks Arul, Ijul and kiddos for taking us to the Blue Mountain. For sure, it was a really nice place to visit, a must visit place when you are visiting Sydney, though it was a real touristy place.
