Enjoying The Viewpoint of Kintamani Bali

When you are tired with Bali's traffic jam, take a drive to the north-eastern part of Bali, and enjoy the fresh air as well as the beauty of Mount and Lake Batur from Kintamani's viewpoint.

It's about 1,5 hours drive from Kuta, when you see the unique fruit sellers along the way, you are about to arrive at Kintamani. I was amazed by how all the fruits are performed in each fruit stall. How creative Balinese people are: they even give their art touch to place the fruits at their stalls.

When we parked our car, we were approached by souvenir sellers, who walked with us to the viewpoint although we had say "no" many times. We kept on walking to the viewpoint, and the drive from Kuta really worth it. It was so gorgeous!

We could see both the mountain and lake of Batur from the viewpoint.

There were many restaurants in the area offering dinner or lunch with a view to Batur Mountain. But actually, you can pack your food and enjoy it around the viewpoint. We didn't have lunch there, as we wanted to continue exploring Ubud and have a coffee and ice cream stop at Ubud.

One more thing to remember if you visit Kintamani by yourself: there were also many people offering the boat trip to the village of Trunyan. We have never visited Trunyan, but seing how those people approached us to take the boat made us did not want to visit the place at all. So please be careful as I read in some blogs that sadly nowadays the boat trip has become a tourist trap.

Apart from the souvenir sellers and the boatman, still Kintamani is a nice place to visit.
