Bubur Laota: Our First Stop in Bali

http://tourismalternative.blogspot.com/2013/08/bubur-laota-our-first-stop-in-bali.html

Bubur Laota is a small restaurant located on Jalan Raya Kuta (opposite Ibis Hotel) provides really great porridge. As it is only 5-10 minutes away from the airport and opens for 24 hours, it has been our first stop in Bali: whether to have our breakfast or for a late supper mmm at midnight:p

There are many types of porridge; chicken, meat, or seafood porridge. We ordered Bubur Pelangi (rainbow porridge) which is mixed of chicken, meat and seafood. One thing to remember, their portion is huge, one bowl of porridge can be shared for four person.

yummy Bubur Pelangi

The porridge doesn't come with the Cakwe (I don't have any idea how to translate cakwe in English), so we ordered their cakwe separately. Hmm I love their hot cakwe, you can put in into the bowl of porridge, or simply eat it with the sambal.

Laota is also specialized to serve Seafood, one of their best menu is this Udang Goreng Gandum (Wheat Fried Shrimp). The topping of the shrimp is so crunchy, a perfect match for the porridge.

crunchy shrimp, delicious!

Laota on Jalan Raya Kuta is always full during lunch or dinner, you may go to their other branch located on Sunset Road. Try this porridge, and you will understand why it has been our first stop everytime we visit Bali.
