Usually when we go to KL, we won't bother looking for hostel as we have the choice to stay at Tune Hotels Downtown KL. Our friends had booked only for one night at Tune Hotels, but for the second night, they had not booked the room as they were still considering whether to stay at KL or Genting. To continue the second night at Tune, we tried our luck to get cheap room rate at Tune, but it was only one month prior to our departure, the room rate was too high for a Tune room:p So we decided to book a hostel instead.
We found Sunshine Bedz on the hostelworld website, and we fell in love with its location. Right next to McD and Giordano outlet Bukit Bintang, and just in front of the Bukit Bintang Monorail Station. We read the guest reviews of Sunshine Bedz at hostelworld, most of them are positive comments.
The hotel located on the second floor of a shop house, so we had to take the stair to the 2nd level.
The check in at the reception was fast, the staffs were really helpful. This is the picture of their reception desk.
We booked two double rooms, one four bedded female dorm, and two beds in their male dorm. A bed in the dorm cost around MYR 30 RM, while a double room private ensuite cost MYR 100 for two person. Our double room had a shower inside, but only the shower.
The shared bathrooms were very clean, so next time if I stay at this hotel again, I would prefer double room, without the shower. It's cheaper and not located on the side of the street that was very noisy at night.
It has also a common room with PC for the guests, and also a dining room on the first floor of the hostel. This hostel also provide free and fast wifi. Free breakfast was provided for the guest at the dining area.
Location wise, this hostel is very recommended. You can shop at Bukit Bintang and just drop your shopping bags at this hostel and continue shopping:p They also have storage area so we could leave our luggage there for free. This hostel is also very clean, and very affordable. Hope all the staffs will continue maintain this hostel. Keep up the good work:)
