It was my first time ever travelling with our kiddos to Singapore. I need to find a hotel with a short walking distance to green line MRT station, a hotel with a great swimming pool, yet our budget is limited. So I need to find a hotel which allowed us to take two children under 12 years old. Through "free cancelation" privillage from Booking.Com first we booked Parkroyal on Beach Road, but than we cancelled as it's a 20 minutes walk to Bugis MRT. Than we changed our booking to Studio M hotel. The Studio M hotel request us to add an extra bed for our 4 years old boy! So we changed to other hotel again:p At the end I choosed Landmark Village Singapore Hotel, of course I wasn't sure of my booking beacause of all negative reviews on Tripadvisor. However many of the reviews said that the pool area is nice.
We took taxi from Changi, it cost about 20 sgd at noon time, and the drive took only 20 minutes. The check in was fast, however when we entered the hotel we smell this strange aromatic smell, which we got used to it on our next day:p I requested to get a room on the highest floor available for our superior room, and we got room at the 11th floor. Yes the hotel is an old hotel, the furniture of our room looks very 80's, but however it has an LCD tv with HBO, Disney Channels and so on..and also it was spacious enough for our kiddos.
We got a free breakfast and also free wifi for our room. The breakfast was at the indian resto on the 5th floor. It was a very basic breakfast, that we only tried once and the next day we enjoyed halal and cheap breakfast around the Sultan Mosque. The hotel location is only 5 minutes walk to Bugis MRT. There's also a nearby bustop at Ophir road which is passed by SEX bus, taking us directly from the Singapore Zoo. From bus stop Bugis STN we took bus 133 to Suntec. I also went to Little India using bus 130 from Bugis STN bus stop. Location wise, this hotel is very accessible. But the hotel looks very tired and old. For us, the LCD with cable tv and also the pool really made up our stay at Landmark Village Bugis.
